I am delighted to share that Rockstar Canines wer awarded best dog training/obedience class of the year for South Scotland 2023. This was presented by The Local Pet Awards Scotland.
Our fully enclosed training field is situated in a rural location near Cleghorn, Lanark.
We have weekly group classes, training dog's and handler's in Agility, Hoopers, Mantrailing and Life Skills. Our classes continue all year round, moving to an indoor training facility for the winter months.
Hoopers
Hoopers is a fun, fast, low-impact sport. Dog's are asked to independently negotiate tunnels, hoops and barrels on mainly verbal cues, while the handler has minimal movement. This sport is less physically demanding than agility and is inclusive for all shapes and sizes of dog's.
Dog's should have a basic level of training before applying for this class.
Puppies can start this class from 6 months old.
Our instructor is accredited and registered with Canine Hoopers UK.

Agility
Dog agility is a sport in which a handler directs a dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. Whilst competing, dogs run off leash with no food or toys as incentives, and the handler cannot touch either the dog or the equipment. The handler's controls are limited to voice, movement, and various body signals, requiring exceptional training of both the dog and handler.
Dog's should have a basic level of training before applying for these classes and should be physically fit enough to participate in a very active sport.
As well as adults, we also have classes specifically for junior handlers (7+).
Our instructor has vast experience in agility training and competing at the highest level. Fiona has also been twice selected to represent Scotland in the World Agility Open.

Mantrailing
Mantrailing is training dog's to find missing people. The dog's nose is so incredibly powerful, we harness this ability to trail a specific humans scent, where they will be rewarded with the best treasure. It's a great fun way to work with your dog whilst teaching them a cool new game.
Mantrailing is all-inclusive, any breed and any age of dog can take part, puppies can start after vaccinations. Handlers do not need to be super fit, this is walking only.
Dogs are worked individually and on a long line, which makes it ideal for reactive dogs. It is a great way to build your dogs self confidence and can really help nervous or shy dogs.
An introduction course must be completed before joining our regular trailing sessions. The introduction courses are held on private venues.
Our regular sessions are in lots of different locations, from local parks/woodlands to
industrial estates and shopping centers.
Our instructor is accredited and registered with Mantrailing Global.
